Richard D. Gordon - Teaching About Christ and His Mission
I hope this stuff will make sense.

Important books to have on hand:
BYU OT Student Manual - especially chapters 13 & 14
Introduction to the OT - Ellis Rasmussen, pgs 98-109
The Law of the Offerings by Andrew Jukes

Jeremiah 27:2  Jeremiah's yoke = bondage
Lev 1-5 - blood refers to the Atonement of Christ

Lev 1
In all offerings we need to recognize the Savior and how it relates to ourselves.
In every offering there is the offering, the Priest, and the one doing the offering.

The offering is always symbolic of the Savior.
The Priest is symbolic of the Savior in that he serves as mediator.
The Offerer is symbolic of the Savior as the one who gave the offering of himself.

Burnt offerings were symbolic because as the offering burns the smoke goes up, thereby sending the offering to Father.
Laying hands on the head of the offering is symbolic of transferring sin to the offering (Christ's atonement).

Vs 5 - blood represents Christ and his redeeming blood and atonement
Vs 6 - body parts (arms = strength, the head thinks and governs the body, legs walk in the strait and narrow path). By offering the head it is symbolic of submitting our will.  Fat represents energy and overall well-being.
Vs 9 - cleansing the inner vessel is symbolic of our first covenant, baptism.

Chapter 2
Vs 1 - they say "meat" while we would say "meal".  Fine flour represents the perfect life of Christ. Oil represents the Holy Ghost.  Frankincense is white and represents the power that is released when it is burned.  It represents the offering of  purity in the Garden of Gethsamane.
As an aside - the Wisemen brought Gold (representing the Celestial Kingdom), Frankincense (representing purity and power and a gift that was used in sacrifices), and Myrhh which is a burial ointment.  In affect they captured the various stages of Christ's life - His greatness and Godliness, His sacrifice, and his death and exaltation.

Exodus 28:4-12
Colors and what they represent:
Blue - sky - heaven or home of Christ
Gold - Celestial Kingdom
Purple - Royalty, the Priesthood
Scarlet - Blood of Christ
Linen - Egyptian word meaning pure white
Aaron represents Christ and Israel is on his shoulder by covenant.  The Savior bears us on his shoulders.

Breastplate in vs 15-16 - span is the distance between expanded little finger and thumb with the pocket sewn on three sides.
Vs 30 - The Urim & Thumim go in the pocket next to Aaron's heart.  We do not know what the U & T are symbolic of, especially next to the heart.
Vs 17 - Stones - we don't know the significance.
Vs 21 & 29 - carrying Israel in 2 places - on his shoulders fulfilling the law of justice, and next to his heart fulfilling the law of mercy.  Brother Packer has taught us that Justice and Mercy are so closely related that Justice is Mercy and Mercy is Justice.

Numbers 3 & 4 - Moving the Tabernacle
Colors of the cloths that covered the various parts of the Ark of the Covenant - Numbers 4:6-13
Blue - heaven, Holy Ghost.  When reading about the skins think about the temple.
For the other colors of the cloths refer above.

In the OT where you see Lord capitalized it refers to the Savior.  The Jews had a word for Savior that they never said out loud.  When the King James people translated the Bible they did not have an equivalent word to use so they signaled the use of the Jewish word by capitalizing Lord.

Hope these notes will make SOME sense to you.
