Bro. Stanley A. Peterson

2nd General Session

The Charge given to each of us:

We have an awesome responsibility to the youth of the Church – responsibility to rescue the youth that have gone astray. How can I ask any more??? 1 Nephi 17:3 the Lord will ask nothing of us save he provide the means for us o do it. If we will do our part, by properly preparing ourselves in every way, He will do His part. Pres. Benson – cleanse the inner vessel – conquer pride. If we will do this, we will be equal to the task set before us. Faith precedes the miracle.

The Ideal Teacher, p. 22 – Good must be earned. We will have to pay the price in advance. Isaiah 40:29-31 – walk and not faint...

The Lord is asking us that we prepare in every way ourselves to fulfill our duties. It is our charge to be profitable servants. Jeffrey R. Holland on religious education, Apr 1998 - they come seeking a spiritual experience - the want to be nourished by the spirit of God.. The Savior prepared for his mission, we might also benefit of having own desert experience. May we take an hour or so each day to ponder and pray about our responsibility. Do I emulate the Lord Jesus Christ? May we never weary in well-doing.

Oct 1997 - Pres. Hinkley – if we will live the gospel, we will be blessed in the marvelous way. Let us go to the House of the Lord, we will walk in His paths.

Again I ask you to withdraw from the world so that you might ponder your task and that you will be equal to the task. Brother Peterson stands only as the messenger, delivering the message that we need to cleanse the inner vessel to prepare to teach the marvelous youth. Moroni 7:3d Christ said that if you will have faith you will have power to do what ever the Lord will have you do.
