Richard O. Christensen
Helps for teaching a Plan of Salvation Lesson at the start of the school year.

Make your first day of seminary good instruction! Not rules and grading policies, etc.!

Brother Christensen mostly went over the material in the OT curriculum, so I'm not going to repeat all that. I'll just give a few of the helps and warnings he gave:

  1. Read Elder Packer's talk. He gives great suggestions.
  2. 3 different ideas are given for teaching this. Choose 1, and do a different one each year.
  1. The 3 act play one was used last year as part of the D&C video presentations, so you probably don't want to do that one this year.
  2. The Bridge analogy is used in the media presentations for OT this year, so that might be a good choice..... [I think he said it was presentations 4-7?]
  3. The third choice is the long string continuum analogy.
Warning!!!! A lot of the material in the regular lessons in the first 2-3 weeks covers more of the information on the creation, fall, etc. Be familiar with this before you teach the Plan of Salvation, so you don't end up repeating yourself.....
